Spring Stargazing Program

Our Spring Stargazing program has been canceled because of clouds.

Meet at the entrance to Thorpe Park to enjoy a tour of the nighttime sky! During the program, we will observe some of the brighter stars, constellations, and planets that will be visible. Participants will also learn how to identify what they see and will hear fascinating facts about them. Everyone will also get a star chart to take home with them.

County Campgrounds Open

The two county campgrounds, at Thorpe Park and Dahle Park, will open for the season on Friday, April 28th. Camping rates at Thorpe Park will remain at $12/night for the electrical/water sites and $8/night for the two primitive, tent-only, sites. Dahle Park rates for this year will be $10/night for all sites. Each park has self-registration and no campsite reservations are taken; each site is available only on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a maximum stay of 14 days at each campground. Campers will be able to pay for their sites with cash, a check, or their credit or debit card (using a slip provided in the payment box). Happy camping!

Arbor Day Tree Giveaway

Stop out at the Thorpe Park Office to pick up a free tree seedling for Arbor Day! This year’s varieties will include Norway Spruce, Shagbark Hickory, Wild Plum, and Aroniaberry. The seedlings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, but quantities will be limited to allow as many people as possible to take advantage of this opportunity. Planting instructions will also be available.
