Public Safety Dispatcher

Winnebago County Communications is seeking a full-time Public Safety Dispatcher

Responsibilities:
•    Operate and monitor telephones, computers, and communications equipment for emergency and routine traffic. 
•    Facilitate appropriate response to all calls for service. 
•    Respond to communications from units and relay information back to them.
•    Receive incoming emergency telephone calls and dispatch appropriate resources.
•    Dispatch public resources to appropriate community services.
•    Utilize computer-based resources and software to facilitate emergent and routine responses.
•    Monitor closed circuit video, access control and intercom systems.
•    Attend required training

Qualifications

Location: Winnebago County Public Safety Center – Forest City, Iowa
 

Pay Range: $23.05 to $28.82 per hour ($44,832 to $56,055 annually dependent on experience and/or certifications)
 

Shifts: You may work any of the following shifts:

Shifts are scheduled Monday-Sunday, including holidays.

Typical Schedule: After your initial training, the typical schedule is a 6-day-on, 3-day-off rotation. This could be on the third shift or a rotating schedule of 3 days on first shift, 3 days on second shift, and 3 days off. You must be able to work other shifts, days, and overtime as needed to ensure proper staffing.
