Notice of Public Hearing - Proposal to Sell County-Owned Real Property

The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on a proposal to sell county-owned real property.  The public hearing will be held on September 16, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Board Room at the Winnebago County Courthouse, Forest City, Iowa.  The property will be sold in three individual tracts, described as follows:

  • Tract 1 – 30 98 24 NE SW & SE SW (Sunnyside Pit, PN’s 1130300004, 1130300005)
  • Tract 2 – S ½ Block 5, Rebecca A. Clark Addition to Forest City & Parts of Vacated I West Streets (County Shop, 135 S. Central St., PN 1136292001)
  • Tract 3 – Lots 1 & 4 in Block 7, Rebecca A. Clark’s Addition to Forest City, Iowa (County Salt Sheds, PN’s 0036302001, 1136302002)

The Board of Supervisors proposes to sell said property by warranty deed, to the highest bidder for each tract.  The highest bidders will be decided by an online-only public auction with bids closing on September 10th.  Any interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing and offer comments or objections to the proposal.
