Veterans Affairs

Winnebago County Veterans Affairs is a department of Winnebago County, Iowa, providing assistance in determining eligibility for County, State and Federal Veterans benefits for honorably discharged veterans. This office believes that it is a privilege to serve veterans and to ensure that they receive the care, support and recognition which they earned in service to our nation.

The Winnebago County Veterans Affairs office is cross-accredited with the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans and is nationally accredited to file federal claims for veterans.

This office does not work for the Veterans Administration or the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs and does not have any direct influence on the granting of VA benefits. However, we work closely with the Federal VA and Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs to inform veterans and their spouses of various benefits for which they are eligible.
